TIMELY (Theology In Ministry for Ecclesial Leaders and Youth) Offered Once Again in Diocese

By Colleen Rowan/The Catholic Spirit WHEELING—TIMELY (Theology In Ministry for Ecclesial Leaders and Youth) is being offered once again for high school students and adults in the diocese. Jane Cors Smith, executive director of Diocesan Pastoral Services, said that the program has a new higher education partner, which will be announced soon, and offers many opportunities for those interested in learning more about their faith. The program is designed to stimulate and nurture excitement about theological learning among youth and adults in the diocese, strengthen the laity for leadership roles in the Church and identify and encourage a new generation of young Catholics to consider vocations in Church ministry. TIMELY offers three tracks: a program for high school students (13-month program), a lay ecclesial ministry certificate (three-year program) and a master’s degree in pastoral ministry, which can also be modified for a master’s in theology or religious education (three-year program). During the summer week program, which will be held June 15-20 at Blessed John XXIII Pastoral Center in Charleston, participants of all three tracks will come together to engage in different activities. The deadline for registration for TIMELY is May 1. For more information or to register, contact Cors Smith at 1-888-434-6237, ext. 376. (See full story in the April 12 issue of The Catholic Spirit)
