Conference to Focus on Boundless Compassion

By Tim Bishop

WHEELING—Sister Joyce Rupp, OSM, will present a four-day conference entitled “Boundless Compassion” at Mount St. Joseph in Wheeling March 8-12. Sister Rupp is an award-winning author who is well known for her work as a spiritual midwife and retreat speaker. Participants will be invited to ponder their personal and professional experiences of compassion, to reenergize their ability to offer loving kindness and to go forth with a renewed commitment to be a compassionate presence in the world.

Sister Ellen Dunn, OP, delegate for consecrated life for the Diocese of Wheeling-Charleston, said, “the focus on compassion ties in with Pope Francis’ message of love. Rupp is deeply rooted in the scriptures but also develops her themes in a psychological manner.”

The conference is open to all. Registration cost is $450. Housing is available at an additional cost on a first come first served basis. For more information, contact Anna Marie Troiani at (304) 232-8160, ext. 112.

The conference coincides with National Catholic Sisters Week (NCSW)-March 8-14. NCSW is designed to raise awareness to the contributions of religious women. NCSW was started by St. Catherine University in St. Paul, Minn.
