CCWVa Names Parish Social Ministry Coordinator; Opens Clarksburg Office

CLARKSBURG—Catholic Charities West Virginia (CCWVa) has named Kate Kosydar its new Parish Social Ministry coordinator and has opened a new office in Clarksburg.

Kosydar began as Parish Social Ministry coordinator Dec. 3 and the new CCWVa Clarksburg Office, where her office is located, officially opened Jan. 2.

“I see my role as to empower parishioners to live their faith,” Kosydar said. “As Catholic Christians, we need to reach out to our neighbors not only by sharing our resources but also by addressing the social issues that do not honor everyone’s human dignity.”

“What I hope to do,” she said, “is to explore Catholic social teaching in light of Scripture and Jesus’ example and our Catholic tradition to help people continue on their path of discipleship.”

Through her role, she can offer parishes evenings of reflection, help with sacramental preparation for parishioners, design retreats, plan speaking engagements, provide materials on Catholic social teaching and more.

The CCWVa Clarksburg Office is located on Pike Street in Clarksburg, near Immaculate Conception Church.
