Catholic Charismatic Conference to be Held in Charleston

CHARLESTON—Robert Canton, a California-based lay evangelist and minister of healing prayer, will lead a weekend of teaching and spiritual renewal at St. John XXIII Pastoral Center in Charleston Aug. 8-10.

Registration is now open for this event, which is sponsored by the West Virginia Catholic Charismatic Conference. The weekend is open to Catholics and non-Catholics. Canton, a Philippines native, came to the U.S. in 1977 and has long been based at St. Luke Parish in Stockton, Calif., where he is “servant leader” of the Children of God charismatic community.

He currently also serves as North American representative to the International Catholic Charismatic Renewal Services (ICCRS), based at the Vatican. He is one of 14 such representatives drawn from around the world who meet together in Rome once each year.

His ministry of teaching, preaching and healing in the name of Jesus Christ has taken him around the world.
